Five months after their first date, Andrew and Erin shipped their Tahoe to Arica, Chile and set off on an epic road trip spanning 4000 miles of the South American continent. Five months of traveling gave them profound insight into the minds of wanderers everywhere and helped define what people value the most when they're on the road. They realized quickly that waking up from a good long slumber was critical to enjoying the day. From high mountain lakes to lush valleys, desert dreamscapes and starry nights, the formula began to crystallize; Getting off the beaten path, the fresh air of the great outdoors, excellent eating & drinking and a great night’s sleep.
La Bohemia Baja Hotel Pequeño was created with that notion at its core.
After a extended honeymoon, Andy drove Erin down the Baja California coastline. When they got about half way, Erin had already seen that this place was still wild, free and stunning, just as Andy had warned! Just hours down the peninsula and she was ready to settle. They extended their trip to drive to the tip, specifically to stop in small Pueblo Magico of Todos Santos. Upon their arrival, they camped at La Pastora beach for the first few days, until they were ready to look at real estate in the area. Having lived in the bucolic town of Sonoma and the ocean side beauty of Santa Barbara, Todos Santos seemed perfect for Andy and Erin's desire to open a hotel for travelers, by travelers. This is when they stumbled upon Las Casitas.
Las Casitas had the unique privileged of calling itself the first B&B in Todos Santos. It's beautiful gardens and hand painted rooms and decor, made this place a unique gem to find. They still get travelers coming back all the time to see their casita they stayed in 20 years ago or to see if Wendy's world famous Sunday brunch is still being served. When Andy and Erin stumbled upon this left behind charm, they decided that its energy and bone structure would be a perfect canvas for all their ideas and dreams to come true.
The couple signed on the hotel at the end of May 2014. Hours after the signing, they found out that they were going to be a family of 3! Erin was pregnant! And so the real adventure began!
After changing roofs, adding walls, putting in bathrooms, grass, remodeling the outdoor seating areas and gardens, putting in a pool, painting, tiling, decorating, all while creating an online business, La Bohemia Baja Hotel Pequeño was born. Almost exactly 9 months and one Category 4 hurricane later, the Hotel opened it's doors to their first guests on Jan 13, 2015. 2 weeks later, they welcomed their beautiful daughter, Lada Catherine, into the world!
Together, the staff at La Bohemia, is always striving to create a unique and comfortable stay for their travelers. We welcome you to come stay with us and enjoy our dream while basking in the pool or taking a stroll around the gardens. "Our house is your house" as they like to say :)
